Heather from Columbus, Ohio called with a question about blind baking pie crust. She wanted to know if it was necessary for custard based pies such as pumpkin and sweet potato. Cheryl: You really have to cut in the shortening of the butter fully to the flour. And you really want that crust to firm up before you take it out.
