To Get Beyond Means to Get By
To get by means to be able to survive on certain amount of money or an amount of food. Get beyond is another phrasal verb, but not so well used as it's a word for anger and frustration. To get down to something in connection with work can mean having to start doing some really hard work next week because that presentation is due by the end of the month.
