Whatever you do with your child, that's what you're creating as an adult. A narcissist is not going to acknowledge that they have a problem. Personality disorders don't have the best prognosis because in the individual's eyes, what they're doing is working for them. They live in a fantasy world in which they are the top dog. You can't change what you don't acknowledge.
