Are You Burning Out or Are You Depressed?
The strategies that a neurotypical person in depression are different to what we would recommend for a neurodivergent person in depression or burnout. We usually recommend something called behavioral activation, which is doing more. But if you're actually in say a period of burnout because you have been over functioning and masking for a long period of time, actually doing more may increase your level of burnout and ultimately depression. So it's really important to try and understand where you're at and what's going on for you.
