Afonso Goncalves: I think first and foremost is script they send me the script. If I like the script it's like oh yeah I connect this would be fun. Then I talk to the director to have a feel for their ideas of how it's going to be. He says he still likes to do first time filmmakers like up and coming filmmakers because there's an energy in them. "I'm lucky that I had filmmakers that I've worked with and they keep coming back"
