In authoritarian systems, it's access to data that can actually power not just obviously the surveillance, right? But also power both the information manipulation and the censorship. And there, I see this as an increasingly critical but largely misunderstood or underappreciated battleground for geopolitical influence. The US, Europe, and the autocrats essentially have three different frameworks that they're using for data governance.
