Saffron Turns Everything a Beautiful Yellow Color
When you use saffron in dishes it turns everything yellow. It has the same pigment power as turmeric or curcumin's orange. Because it is such an expensive spice you usually use quite a small amount of it but because it has such a powerful dying ability instead of turning everything red it will turn everything a beautiful yellow color. And I think another really interesting thing about Donovan's lyrics here and the title of the song is Mello Yellow. The mellowness makes sense too there.
