The Abominable Shepherds of Egypt
Joseph tells his brothers that they are shepherds, which is an abomination to the Egyptians. Joseph comes up with this strategy whereby Pharaoh will be happy to give them Goshen. "It seems that this episode reflects a scenario where Joseph understands Egyptian culture," he says.
