Service objects are neither a pattern nor a paradime, although people treat them like a paradime. People discover the concept of service objects, and they say, all service objects. This fixes everything. We'll just write our code this way now. And that supposedly solves the problem, but it really doesn't solve the problem because you're not actually organizing anything. You're just taking big chunks of code and moving them from one place to another. The key thing that service objects lack tome is meaning. One of my main gripes with serfice objects is that they lack meaning. It does not make a lot of sense to me to have your business logic live in a model.
