Jonathan Swan was born into journalism in some ways. His dad is a journalist, his uncle and aunt are crime reporters. He started out as a copy boy at a tabloid newspaper when he was 15 or 16. In 2014, he got a fellowship that was supposed to be just a one year stint over in U.S. But he never left and ended up getting a job at the Hill newspaper and covering the 2016 election.
