Work is a social activity. It arises out of the same instinct that every other kind of personal engagement am arises out of. We can do it well, or we can do it badly. People who are happy at work generally have very rich, comparatively rich, social lives outside of work. And if you're not satisfied in your job, work cannot overcome all those other deficits. Work isyou. Ah, but workers are none the less social, and have to be regarded as such.
