The Limit of How Much We Should Give

I argued that the only ultimate limit of how much we should give is the point at which if we gave more, we would be harming ourselves. And given the discrepancies between affluence in developed countries and people in extreme poverty and lower income countries, that's a very demanding standard. I think producing the best consequences don't come from asking people to make things that really they would inevitably see as a huge sacrifice. But rather from convincing them that this is not really a sacrifice at all, but that this is something that will actually be better off.
