The Scotsman Fallacy and the Importance of Liberalism
No society in the history of what has been truly liberal, but that's true of our societies as well. The question for me is whether or not we have managed to live up closer to a liberal society over time and whether that has on the whole improved society or not. I'm struck by the fact that you give an answer that is very similar to that of a set of thinkers that I've been reading for my book coming out.
