Is There Any Misconceptions About Problem Solving?
I think teachers tend to have a decent grasp from my experience of problem solving what it is, but I tend to see a few misconceptions about the place. You've got the misconception that all problem solving is word problem solving and leading to quite a mundane existence for people who have to do that on a daily basis. But you've also got the misconceptionthat no instruction is needed for pupils to be successful in problem solving. And so the two misconceptions I see are overgeneralizations to the polls.
