David Perry: It seems insane that the Bible would not be regularly taught in this country just as like a civic text. The book of Micah has two verses in it that I talk about constantly in our relationships with each other as citizens and our relationship to the government, he says. "It doesn't give you an option to sort of choose your virtue," writes Perry. And then Micah 4.4 was one of George Washington's favorite verses.
