The Castellian Spanish S is almost close to a chis sound, because that's developed partially to distinguish it from the sound. But since Basque has phoneme, it hasn't gone that far. It stays somewhere in between the laminodental that French has and the postal viola. I've not seen another language that has that close of a distinction.
