The Importance of Feeling
I think art always feels to me in any capacity like an opening. I could read one poem or hear one new song and instantly this new bit of me opens up. And we need to encourage kids to feel that rather than to go, how many marks out of a hundred did you get for that piece of art? How did you feel painting that picture? How did he feel playing that piano piece? Like we're not tapping into the feeling bit of it. At our core, that's what we are. That is everything. It's what we feel, what we emote.
