The Last of the Minoans Returned to Crete
There are more than 80 of these villages, all in the mountains on the eastern side of Crete. Carfi is one that we know people were at a lot longer than when they took sanctuary up there during the Bronze Age collapse. Artifacts found include clay figurines of people and animals as well as human body parts made of clay or these were votive body parts. Many sites like this later became villages with people moving in.
