The Beatles and Decca
Lennon McCartney and Brian Poole agreed that they would split the credit on anything either of them wrote. The Beatles were now a proper professional group, but unfortunately Decca turned them down. Mike Smith was still fairly confident they'd be releasing something through Decca - he just had to work out the details with his boss Dick Rowe.
