The Importance of Listening to Your Mom
Heather and Baddeha's parents weren't listening when they met with Mr. Flexor on parent conference night. All of the fifth graders were either getting waved away or piled on with irrelevant and meddlesome advice. As Heather walked up the stairs to her room after dinner, something caught her eye. Her mom's coat was strewn across the railing of the stairs; a faint purple glow radiated from a pocket. She pulled out a small marble that looked like a tiny copy of Mr. flexor's glowing purple ball. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching, Heather curled her fist around the marble and dashed upstairs.
