The Importance of Sound Quality in a Podcast

The mixing of music throughout the podcast is stellar. The narration recorded in the studio, it all sounds great,. But the sound quality of the interviews is subpar. I tried listening to this podcast on the speakers in my car and with headphones on a jet, no go. If you consider how lush the production is on Bjork's albums, subpar is a generous description. And I'm not picking one small section of tape and making a fuss, the poor recordings continue throughout the whole series.
