Is There Progress in Parenting?

We don't have a lot of change in raising an infant. I mean, we had better health, so that infant mortality as progressed,. but the ways that wo cuddle and feed and put to sleep and sing to haven't changed. And i'm wonderingo thinking about a kind of ratio of what has changed over what has stayed the same. What is the definition of progress when we're dealing with ain't no huge world events like that? It would be interesting to look at what the ratio, as i said before, of what is considered progress over what is considered the same.
