There's a history of opium in India and in South Asia but other than that I don't really see much of opium stories stories related to opium history except for maybe you know the opium den where the lost white character would go into losing stuff. Opio is already connected to tea and tea is connected to sugar right? The idea is that the rise of tea only becomes a popular drink when you can add some sugar to it make it sweet otherwise it's still an energizing sort of drink but it's bitter, he says. He also talks about how colonialism happened because "how did they conquer the world like there"? It's a kind of like a mysterylike you can't piece it together
