Early Motherhood

The idea of kind of motherhood particularly early motherhood is quite entrenched as a cultural story. And I think one reason why we expect it of everyone is that we've been told that it's our biological essence that we are prepared and ready to be mothers. But the reality is that for a birthing parent in particular, you know, you have these intense hormonal and biological shifts That happen through pregnancy and childbirth and lactation. They're very different mechanisms that change their brain, but they end up at a quite similar place especially if they're engaged as a primary caregiver to their children.
