The Rise and Fall of Etheus
Etheus is the son of a major politician of the Western Empire in the four tens and early four twenties. He is sent to the Huns as a hostage while a young man, before a tiller was in charge. So there's every chance that they would have encountered one another. Etheus then returns to the West Roman political orbit and he makes himself the dominant generalissimo. As the three boys grow up, a tiller and blade it will remain in contact with Etheus. That's how fractured the Roman Empire has become.
