Jonathan Edwards on Slavery and the Slave Trade
Jonathan Edwards owned at least four slaves during the course of his life. He did not draw metaphysical differences between race though. In 1730s there were Native Americans and African Americans becoming slaves too in some ways but they were becoming saved in joining churches. The only document that we have where he specifically talks about slavery is a draft and he's writing to defend a minister.
