The Relationship Between a Dominant Party System and Democratic Backsliding

The author says we are confating different phenomenon and basically using them in a manner that is not analytically very useful because if you can feed them together then it's perhaps not very useful analytically so let me explain what I mean by that use the there's a sentence from me where I am quoting systemic features of a dominant party system that is also marked by deep partisan polarization are being conflated with democratic backsliding. The federal compact in India is under deep threat right is it under strain just but it's a feature of the dominant party system where when you have like a majority you don't need to bargain with your allies in the same way as you are going to be right
