The Importance of a Good Credit Score
The credit score system is supposed to be an objective rating of your future likelihood of repaying a debt. It bases that rating on your financial history, but it only uses a certain type of financial history and whites are far more likely to have than African Americans. So as a result, African Americans are disadvantaged in the credit scoring system - which makes it harder for them to buy their first home.
