The quatrefoil is a simple ornamental form that has no steady associations with any specific country or movement. Owen Jones' work, the Grammar of Ornament, was part of a number of different pages on ornament in the later 19th and early 20th century. And designers still use these pattern books for inspiration. Louis Vuitton had a lawsuit over use of the quat refoil. Luxury jeweler David Yerman trademarked the word quat Refoil.
