Is It Possible to Legitimize the Humanities in the Context of Academics?

I think it's fascinating how there's the material conditions of how the theories produce lead towards this structuralism and cybernetics. I write the history of how starting in the 20s and 30s and feels like anthropology, there's kind of a technical and communicative turn and technocratic thread running through the social sciences, the humanities. Alongside of that, you know, the kind of shadow story that I didn't, I had no idea would be in the book if I ended up being quite decisive. And so bit by bit, really across the disciplines in the 50s and 60s, you see these elements of engineering, digital and cybernetic thought taking hold.
