In the quanum world, it didn't collapse that way, but it was still a distinctly possible state before the choice was made. In other words, if it's possible for the light coming through the slit to be a particle or a wave, and it gets decided at some point o it collapses to a particle, the wave, possibility is real. That's a different rat cause you caln have a mathematical description of something, say, was not real. But nevertheless, that were ontologically real thand suddenly all these psychic things become a lot easier to understand. So that's the proposal at's like a different theoretical way of thinking about what quanta mechanics is saying.
