Learning Tones in Isolation
When i first started learning chinese, i learned that there were four tones and what they were. The third tone was quite difficult because it was initially explained to me as an up and down tone. And i noticed very early on that it didn't follow along with that when people were actually speaking in native conversations. So i got told by native speakers that that was wrong a lot of the time. But im now more getting used to it. Yes. I mean, learning tones in isolation, there are some chaenges that come from that. In particular, like you just mentioned the third tone. It's taught like, as a falling rising tone, when in the majority of cases, the
