CHAPTER

The Neoliberal Dream of a Highly Individualized Society

Neo liberals believe in a social order based on market discipline, right? And that the individuals having to compete in labor markets is the best way to control populations and to build a social order. But what you have with the permanent employed in the United States from the 1970s is the population that isn't subject to market discipline because they are state benefits without having to compete with anyone for it.
