Is Past Performance a Good Way to Pick an Investment?

I think what you should listen to is not past performance, but their theory. Why do they think they're going to outperform in the future? And does that make sense? So for example, when I read what Kathy Wood says, she's very unconvincing to me. She view her as someone who got lucky and rode the wave. Once you know that they were in that space, they've outperformed. But I don't think it's much of an indication of skill. It's an indication of you pick stocks and nature happen to pick your strategy.
