Why Do We Need Strong Emergence?

Richard: There are powerful arguments against materialist reductions of consciousness. Nothing in particle physics, n nothing in the experiments on small numbers of particles either support or disconfirm libertarian free will. But i am inclined to think at least when it comes to cognitive consciousness, ar really all forms of reduction pretty and plausible.
