Julian Zelizer: Did lockdowns work, the verdict on COVID restrictions. He says they were one of the biggest policy mistakes in modern times. They only reduce mortality by about 3.2%. Those numbers that I gave you again 6000 avoided deaths in Europe. The usual normal flu season in Europe, about 72,000 people die. In the United States about 38,000 people died in a flu season from flu and the lockdowns saved about 4000 lives.
