The Surprise of Molecular Oxygen on the Comet

It was mostly a surprise reaction that we had. It wasn't like a joyful, really celebratory moment because we didn't know what that would mean if it was an instrumental effect or if it was real from the comet. The thing with oxygen is it's pretty reactive, so it rags with all kinds of different elements and molecules. So as we saw that this O2 signature was staying pretty constant relative to water, we got more and more excited about having found something special.
