The Importance of Decentralized Command
Leadership is the most important thing on the battlefield, he says. " decentralized command" means everyone has to lead - not just one person. If you don't have people that are on the front lines that can make decisions and every single decision that they make, they must run up to the top of the chain of command and get permission. When you can't react quickly enough, you get ambushed, you get flanked, you get maneuvered on by the enemy and you get killed.
