I Sat in a Carriage, and a Man Shook His Head.
The door to the carriage was jammed shut, and no amount of kicking would move it. He looked around for anything he could see that might be a way out - but instead saw an old man sitting very still. The seat around him had twisted so much It was now holding him in place at an angle that looked very painful. I tried to push him away, but his fingernails dug into my skin,. A ragged voice hissed out of him, despairing and full of pain. Then he let me go. By then the seeming was almost on top of me, and the walls looked like they were close to giving way.
