Christine Vilman's Trial
Christine Vilman was found guilty of murdering her son Gregory in 1986. She tried to commit suicide after the court ruled she would not get a fair trial. Her lawyers argued that the media had distorted Christine's image so severely there was no hope this could be restored in court. The circumstantial case for murder was just too flimsy, experts said.
