Hesh Poitier: The First Black Man to Win an Academy Award?

Sydney Poitier was the first black man to win an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role as Homer Smith in Little. Doug Trumbull directed Silent Running, one of my favorite movies of all time. He had a very truncated career as a feature film director because he had a very hard time in Hollywood. And I just think it's a real shame that he didn't direct more features. But if you leave behind silent running, I mean, wow, it's like,you know, it's work of genius.
