The Response of a Plant to a Specific Sound

T. Rex: My research deals with insects that communicate using mechanical vibrations. I wanted to look at the response from a plant to a very specific sound, which is the sound of caterpillars actually chomping on leaves. He says plants make all different kinds of chemical defenses when they're attacked by an insect. T.Rex: We were able to measure increases in the levels of those compounds in plants when they'd previously received feeding vibrations.
