The Cost of San Francisco's Law Enforcement Settlements
In the past 13 years, San Francisco has paid out more than $70 million in settlements of civil suits prompted by alleged misconduct. That figure comes from a data project by mission local reporter Will Jarrett. He obtained and sorted through years of court records to track these settlements. Each of them individually has cost the city millions.
