When he was 16, I read Thinking Grow Rich for the first time by Napoleon Hill. The basic idea is that if you want to accomplish something really big that you can, you have to set a goal long term, then medium term, then short term, create a plan. And so we live in a world where many more jobs are becoming non routine knowledge based intellectual activities. In some ways people aren't just being paid for their immediate outputs, they're being paid for insights that they have.
