The Social Relationship of Ownership

Sally Kohn: If surplus value is the profit gained from the production process, the value that is not paid back to the worker as wages. It seems like there's this sort of elaborate series of divisions of that value going to different types of property owners. She says it's describing again just kind of how the broader social relationship of ownership is supported and only really possible because of the exploitation of labor.Kohn: And so, I think it's useful to see again how these things can tie together where like disparate seeming activities and aspects of economic life really inform one each other in ways that often go unremarked on or take some digging to uncover.
