Billy idle's siber punk album was released in 19 93. It was an absolute commercial failure, critically torn to pieces. And it ruined his career. But as a piece of folkin art, a concept, it is not a failure. For something can be not good and also be hugely important. I would refer to it as avant guard. When an army was advancing, there was a small number of soldiers who would go miles ahead of the larger army. The purpose of the avant guard was to discover new territory - even if that meant failure.
