There are eight core emotions. There's anger, fear, pain, shame, guilt, joy, passion, and love. All of those words correlate to these eight. And that helps you because you're going to better separate the thoughts from the feelings. I also believe that they're evolutionary in nature. But essentially they all have gifts and you need them to survive.
