The Silicon-Viticon-Fatometer: A Transitionary Technology for Digital Imaging

The silicon-viticon represents something we don't get to see very often. The device was developed in 1971 by Thomas McCord and James Westfall. It's trying really hard to be a CCD using the framework of earlier analog technology. A normal viticon is just a different take on the old iconoscope.
