i don't think we've ever had a demand shock for trend following unfortunately there never seem to be any real strong demand and plenty of supply actually. John lintner in 1983 talked about the benefits of adding many futures to a stocks and bond portfolio so that's one thing now i also get this question asked that you just pointed to and of course you're absolutely right you there's you can have different starting points and you get different results etc etc So we approach it from a slightly different point of view because whenever you decide to make a change to your portfolio including trend following is a big shift.
