Is There a Dog in Language?
i firmly believe that every noun that i know in my language corresponds to a brain state in my head. Could i rewrite the rules of language that describe what you can do with nouns in terms of rules oof electrical interactions in the brain? And the contention of people like me on this side of this divide is that's not, in principle, possible. So at some level, unless you think it's all billiard balls, or staccastic random mnemonics, we're talking about something very much more fundamental than mental plasticity.
